Rosary of Mary

What is a rosary?

A series of prayers, usually consisting of 15 decades of aves, each decade being preceded by a paternoster and followed by a Gloria Patri, one of the mysteries or events in the life of Christ or the Virgin Mary being recalled at each decade.

How to pray the rosary?

The purpose of the Rosary is to help keep in memory certain principal events or mysteries in the history of our salvation, and to thank and praise God for them.

Why we paryed the rosary?

One reason the Blessed Mother asked us to pray the rosary might be because it can benefit anyone at any stage of the spiritual life from beginners to advanced.

Rosary History

The traditional story of the rosary was that Mary herself appeared to Saint Dominic in the twelfth century.Originally the rosary had 150 beads, the same number of psalms in the Bible.

This first rosary was prayed as we do today, a person would pass their fingers over each bead and say a prayer, usually the “Our Father”. The “Hail Mary” as we know it wasn’t even around at that time. Various people have added other things to the rosary over the centuries. In the fifteenth century, a Carthusian monk divided the rosary into fifteen brackets. These mysteries were events in the life of Jesus as written in the gospels.

Prayers for Praying the Rosary

The Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Fatima Prayer (Optional)
O my Jesus, forgive us of our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls into heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Leader: Pray for us O Holy Mother of God,
All: That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.
(Optional)
Leader: Let us pray.
All: O God whose only begotten Son by his life, death, and Resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant we beseech thee, that meditating on these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Holy Father (for private devotion) Leader: Upon this Rock He will build His Church...
All: ...and the jaws of death shall not prevail against her.

Leader: O Mother of the Redeemer...
All: ...Living Tabernacle of the Eucharist, and Luminous Rose of Heaven, with humble confidence we ask you to bestow upon the Holy Father all the graces and blessings reserved for him by the Holy Trinity from all eternity. Amen.

Leader: Help his friends...
All: ...convert his enemies.

Leader: Saint Joseph...
All: ...pray for us. Amen.

Just as I was in the pool, I felt the water warming me up. I walked around and diving for 1 minute till Mr Berton came. He sat on the area the side of the steps and face in-front of us. We all line in the middle and put our hands on our heads as Mr Berton told us to do it when ever we talked or playing. First we start off with the torpedo which we put our hands straight up in the air and swim at side of the pool. I pushed myself to the end of the pool. I got there as fast as I could and feeling that was fast because it like just 15feet across. The second game is aqua-jogging. Mr Berton gave us 2 minute to play. I quickly rushed to Maria and asked her if she want to play with me and she said okay. We race around, walked and diving. It was the enjoyable time.. Soon afterwards we line up to going out. I had a great learning time.

FIVE FINGER TEST

Hi, today in our reading time we look at how the five finger test works. Have you ever bought a book or been given a book and found it to difficult to read. Well the five finger test will help you.

The five finger test works like this.....
1) Open the book and select a page at random.
2) Look at the words on the page , if you see 5 words you do not
know then this book will be to difficult for you to read.
3) Place your finger and thumb on each the words you do not know.

Here is the book I chose on Thursday, I picked the book called “THE CLASSIC GIRL STORIES” from the library. I read the first chapter by Rosemary Sandberg who wrote this book and her first chapter is talking about herself. There’s are some old story about girls when she was young. I think she’s a good writer and try her best to make the reader imagine that her/him inside the story. It didn’t show the ending but I read the first one.
This story is good for readers and girls that love girls books.

Issue about the Court

I am speaking to you today because there’s a issue about the netball or basketball court.

It is my view that the courts at school should remain open for general use at break times.

First of all,are there any alternatives? We can’t play on the field because it is to muddy and we going to get dirty as well as damage the grass. So there needs to be a hard dry place to play and be active. It is clear if we are having netball in our school where were is the training going to happen. The hall is boring for training and no hoops pole. “We need the court Mrs Tui for the training netball girls to play and many people agree with me”!.

Secondly I see that boys like basketball, shooting hoops and some of us playing volley the other side because the netball girls only use the half court. Some of the boys from room 6 are playing touch ball and room7. This court is massive and we all can fit inside to play.

Mrs Tui this court we need more for sport to play to relax our brains from the other learning.

Holiday

MY HOLIDAY ….a break from the classroom!

During my holiday vacation time in April 20 2011, we had such a busy long day. We went to my uncle’s house which is at Mangere on the other side of the Auckland isthmus. In the morning 9:00 am, I woke up early, yes early for holidays. My parent’s were up already and they were outside talking. I went to brush my teeth before washing dishes after that I thought I have a moment to rest. It’s usually my duty every morning and cleaning up the sitting room.

After I finished washing the dishes my mum called out from outside the house to get changed double quick as we were going in a minute. So I went to shower and change. Then my sister’s just woke up.My mum came to shower them and put on their clothes.

I was so busy finding my shoes and my brother,Jonah, keep sitting there watching TV. Every morning he always watching TV and I keep telling him to stop watching and get ready. It like a hypnotized him. That it
“IONA GET UP NOW” I shouted.

As we all seemed organized we went into the car. We headed to Super Value to buy some pies and freeze drinks. After that were on the road to Mangere, it took about 30 minuted through the morning traffic to get there, it was a nice idea to visit my uncle’s house. As we arrive, my little sisters open the door and raced outside. I walked into the sitting room and watch the TV. WOW! 40 min past, so I cruised into the next room to play with my little cousin , she was still a baby,on the bed. I carried her around , but she keep crying. So I gave up and passed her into the arms of my Mum.

The sky was getting dark and it was 6:00 pm. My dad said “we have to go because it getting dark” . Then we went home. I had a little nap and rest as we drove back to Glen Innes after a long day.

Dam Across The Local River

We can solve this by building a Dam across the local river.

It is clear that Auckland will continue to grow as a city and obvious we must increase the water supply of drinking water. Many people agree with me and local newspaper editorial support my ideas. It is necessary as we need the water for washing ourselves, cloths and schools. Even though people will need to move from homes because of the land were they currently are housed there are adequate remedies for the people effected by the flooding . My friend, Malia agreed that we should build the damp across the local river.

So I think this the only option for the city . We need the dam.

Floating and Sinking

What is floating?
To stay or move on the surface of the liquid without sinking.

What is sinking?
To go down below the surface of the water.

Room 7 has been working on two science project topic ,FLOATING and SINKING. We tested some items in a bucket of water and some of the items were Crayon’s,Banana, Pebbles and an apple. And then, I took out my book (Integrated Studies) from my desk and drew a new title page about Floating and Sinking.

Anzac Letter

14th April
7 Rose Way
Auckland 1072

Dear Dad,
How's it going?
Tell mum I miss her.
Please tell Uncle John that I'm okay. I miss being at home and if I did not realize it before I know now that being a soldier is a hard job.
We travel around the countryside as we moved position and we never had enough food to eat. My first war was not okay, thousand men disappear in horrific mud and get hurt.
It was raining too hard to see the enemy positions last night and lots of bombs exploding up high in the air so I hide inside our dugout. I think it will be hard to survive this fight as long as the fighting is so intense. I was sort of scared when the gun shoot missed me this morning . The sound of the morning shelling is deafening as they go BOOM. I'm training to get ready for the next battle. Wish me luck. Love. Sam

This me....I AM NAYAN

I am talent and tremendous
I wonder if I’m famous artist
I hear a lousy music
I see people playing netball
I want a be a millionaire
I am talent and tremendous

I pretended that I didn’t eat a chocolate but actually I did
I feel a spirit in me
I touched an amazing book called secrets
I worry when my family are in trouble
I cry when my grandma died
I am talent and tremendous

I understand that I have to study
I say I love my family
I dream I was rich
I try to work hard as I can
I hope I will reach up so high and go to university
I am talent and tremendous

Why are goal important?

What is a goal?
Goal is something that you hope to achieve or move you forward. Like when you play netball and people are watching. This is your chance to achieve your goal that you hope to happen. If you got low results. It ‘s your job is to study hard until you move forwards and that make the move another level.

Why goal are important?
Goals are important because there’s something important for you to hope work toward achieving success. Or you want to show people how talent you are.

What is your goal?
My Goal is to move up, study hard and try hard. In every subject at school or sport.

How does it helps us to learn?
To achieve your goal will give you a good feeling and so you try hard to reach up and never give up. Help yourself to move to another level until get enough results.

Science

On Thursday, Room 7 carried out some amazing science as we tested what would float and sink. I took out my Integrated Studies book set out the page into columns. Then, I wrote the items which iI would test including crayons, rubber, pen, pebbles, banana and kiwi fruit. Secondly, I wrote down what I thought, a prediction, "would it sink or float". Thirdly, we tested it what will happened. Miss Ana fill the water it to a container and then we put all the items in it. We all looked and gathered inside and looked. We tested all the items and correct the things that I wrote down and put a cross what a mistake is.

I sure I learn more about boyance and displacement of water and look at what Archemedes learnt about water.

Duffy Assembly

“Okay class it’s time to go to the Duffy display”said Mr Hooker. We all lined up in two lines on the veranda of our second classroom and walk all the way to the hall, as usual there were those who could not stop chattering so stopped a few times. We went inside without any noise and sit down ready for the show.

Then after a few minutes Mr Mac, Mr Coakley and Mrs Beverley Wright came in and sat on the chairs upfront, the place of honour. Angelica was our compare for the gathering and she stood up before she asked everyone to stand so we could sing the school song . Then we all sat down and once the guest were comfortably seated Mr Coakley stood up and spoke about our guests and then he invited Mrs Wright to say a few words. Mrs Wright told she always read the ‘thank you’ letters she got from St Pius X School and they told as that as a Duffy book sponsor it was her way of saying thanks to all the people who had helped him during her life. After that, Mr Mac came up and told us about his book that he published.

So he begin to tell us about his writing and how you made a book in a A4. He folded the A4 paper and write. Then he started to asked people some question. He’s funny when he act like little kid and he asked 4 people to come up to read.

After about 25 minutes, Mr Mac gave a certificates to 4 people that read the book and ,After that Angelica asked Mr Mac. “Would you come up to give out each of the class Duffy books”. Mr Coakley came up and begin to give out the Duffy book which is on the table beside at him.

As the Duffy books has given out finish. We sang the Duffy song.  Mr Mac came up with Mrs Beverly and dance upfront and all the children laughing. After that, they went back and we all get ready for the Lunch time.

Mary Makillop

The Theater at St Pius X Catholic School.

Mary MacKillop is a famous Australian who said “ never see a need without doing something about it” and she finally came to St Pius X on Thursday. Mr Coakley announced to the assembly of children “Okay school have a good time and enjoy the show”.

We line up and went in. As I went in ,all the chairs rounded like a circle and a space in the middle where room 3, 2, 1 sit. It looked like a theater and then a very interesting painting hanging on the back-drop. Mrs Tui let us sit in pattern(Girl, boy, girl, boy), was this a quick algebra lesson or more about stopping us joking about. I sat in between Emmanuel and Siliva, waiting for the show start. It went quiet.

Mary Makillop appeared on the stage dressed in a habit of a nun. She’s very good actor and a very fabulous voice. Mr Scott came up with a billy cart and Mary Makillop jumped up with an exciting feeling, when she sees the billy cart. She sat in the billy cart and Mr Scott push her straight in the direction of the 3 bucket is build up like a House . She crash into it and jump up said “I love Billy Cart” “I love Billy Cart” ..5 times.

Mary Mackillop helped poor people with their family and from this example others followed her and the Sisters of St Joseph was formed with a nick name of Josephites.

And my favourite part that there’s a little girl had a little baby brother. A little girl is 12 years old. So I watch carefully as the girl dad arrive home, he search every where for the nurse and then she asked her daughter and she said back. “I FIRED HER”. What! her dad was shocked. Why!. Because she was drunk and hold my little brother on her hands. So I fired her.At that time, I imagine what if I saw a person who’s drunk with my little baby sister holding.

After all I watch through stories about Mary Makillop. I just learnt many
things important from Mary MacKillop displayed. I can see how kind to others, support and strong faith in god.And everyone applauding and cheering for the two of them. So now I know, Mary MacKillop is a person has a strong faith in God.

ATHLETICS Practice- Teamwork

"Line up room7" said Ms Oldfield. She looked disappointed. Ms Oldfield was so angry as was she's trying to settle her class and we came out with a noisy sound like we don't care, I was walking out like a normal person not like most of the others . I know that Ms Oldfield hated this
behaviour. At 14.20 pm after we got organize, I feel so sorry about Ms Oldfield about her disaster week and I will prove her next week a good behaviour makes her feel excited. It took us in 20 minute to get from that class room to the field and there was so many of us. As we got into our groups,I was the first leader. My group included 17 people then Ms Oldfield said “half it “ like I'm doing subtraction. "Ready" said Mr Gaffney who blew the whistle. He blew the whistle loudly so other groups could hear it, I ran fast as I could, round the cone, run to the other cone and fast as I could to the end where my team was waiting. As the game finished I could see we had won and jump up with an exciting feeling . We had a lot of fun.

As we walked back to class I could see that Mr Hooker and Mr Coakley had been watching us race around the ground but I wonder if they saw us take so long to move from our classes to the sports field? I don’t think I ask them.
